Habitats
Occurs in Gangwon, Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungbuk, Chungnam, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Jeonbuk or Jeonnam.
Stem
Scattered growth, with basal sheath color light brown, and length about 14-40 cm.
Leaves
Leaves shorter than the stem, have hairy or pubescent surfaces, width about 17-25 mm.
Inflorescence
The number of spikes two or more. Spike shapes different (showing distinct sexual characteristics), with some spikes bisexual, spikes arranged loosely. Terminal spike sexuality androgynous. Lateral spike sexuality pistillate, and erect to ascend. Terminal spike length about 1-1.2 cm. Number of spikes per node one (one spike in one bract).
Bract
Lowermost bract shape scale-like.
Glume
Staminate glume awn absent. Pistillate glume awn absent or short (awn less than one-third of the total length). Pistillate glume color whitish green to light brown.
Perigynium
Transverse section trigonous to terete. Perigynium shape obovate (the broadest part near the apex) or elliptical to narrow elliptical (the broadest part in the center), and densely flowered. Perigynium glabrous. Beak short (beak less than one-third of the total length), with truncate mouth. Length 3-3.5 mm.
Achene
Appendage absent, no constrictions.
